Central Park Pedicab Tours

Central Park pedicab tours compared: booked tours from about $30 to $62 a person, what they reach, the city's per-minute fare rules for street pedicabs, and carriage vs pedicab (Oct 2026).

Updated October 2026

A booked Central Park pedicab tour costs about $30 to $62 a person on GetYourGuide (October 2026) for an hour or more, with a guide who pedals and narrates and stops for photos at Bethesda Fountain, Bow Bridge and Strawberry Fields; the most reviewed is ExperienceNYC’s private tour, rated 4.9 from 2,121 reviews. A booked tour has its price fixed before you sit down. A pedicab hailed on the street charges by the minute, and the city requires that rate to be posted on the pedicab before you get in.

For one or two people, a pedicab tour covers more of the park for less. For four, or for an occasion, a carriage is the one vehicle with room for all of you; Central Park carriage ride prices compares them.

Hailing a pedicab on the street

The city’s Department of Consumer and Worker Protection sets the rules for pedicabs you hail, on its inspection checklist for pedicab businesses and drivers:

  • Per minute only. The fare can only be a rate per minute per ride, shown on signs on both sides of the pedicab and on the back of the driver’s seat.
  • A sealed timer in full view of the passengers, started once you are seated and the ride begins.
  • No extras. No taxes, no added fees, no charge for extra passengers, and no more than the posted rate.
  • A Pedicab Information Card, handed to each passenger before the ride, with the rate and the driver’s licence number. A gratuity is not required.
  • Up to three passengers in one pedicab.

Read the rate on the sign and do the sum for the minutes you want before you get in. The city sets no pedicab rate; its own consumer leaflet works an example of $3 a minute for 22 minutes, $66 for the ride whether one, two or three people ride, and it is against the law to charge extra for more people, add taxes or make a tip mandatory (NYC DCWP). A booked tour fixes the price ahead.
